Nessie had wondered towards the Cullen house, the main house had been empty, she'd planned on talking to her grandmother, Esme was always best to talk to about matters of the heart, and Nessie was in the mood to pour her heart out. She'd noticed the main house was completely empty and figured that her grandparents were out hunting, the thought had crossed her mind of going to her parents and talking to her mother, after all they were as close as sisters but she'd pushed that idea aside when she thought about one of things she wanted to talk about. With a sigh she'd sat by the river that ran close to the main house, her feet dangling in the water, she hadn't bothered to put shoes on, she rarely felt the cold and she couldn't find shoes to go with outfit that she wore.
She was dressed in a simple black dress that hung just above the knee and both pairs of shoes that she'd looked at weren't right for the walking she'd been doing. She let out a frustrated sigh and pushed herself up onto her feet, taking a few steps back she decided to jump the river. As soon as she hit the ground she carried on running, she wasn't even thinking about where she was going, she just ran, letting her legs carry her, her body seeming to take on a mind of its own. She suddenly came to a stop and looking around a small smile played on her lips she was at the meadow. Her father had taken her many times when she was younger and she absolutely loved the place. This was where she wanted to hold the wedding, next summer, flowers everywhere, it would be beautiful.
Ideas of the wedding soon made her train of thought run to Jacob and she let herself fall to the ground. Her eyes glazed over as her thoughts began to take her, they were such a jumble and if anyone were to look in they would make no sense what-so-ever. But what did that matter, it was just her and her thoughts. She didn't know how long she'd been sitting there or what the time was, when she finally pulled out her trace, her thoughts no clearer than before she realised that darkness had fallen all around her. The other thing she didn't know was when she'd started crying, but her cheeks were wet and there were silent tears streaming down her face.

Edward had decided on making the day into a long hunting trip. He hadn’t ‘bagged’ himself a mountain lion since they came back to Forks, and the deer and elk weren’t really cutting it for him. So leaving at dawn, he told Bella he wouldn’t be gone long, he headed for the Rockies, they had a vast amount of mountain lions and rock climbing would make it more interesting. He had made it to his destination before noon, which was a short period of time but long for him, he ran what would be deemed his slow pace for running. Running always cleared his head, and with the current circumstances, what with the Volturi and stuff. It also kept his temper from flaring when he thought about the Italian vampires. He banished those thoughts immediately pushing himself further a little faster then before, he didn’t want to dwell on those vampires, not wanting to be in a foul mood when he hunted or returned home.
After catching two lions, more then his fill for a couple of days he turned back and headed for Forks. He was surprised to see that he’d be back a couple of hours before he told anyone he’d be back. This was probably because he moved his legs as fast as they would go, a habit after he hunted, his body was just using the extra energy he gathered from the thrill of the hunt. His eyes would have glimmered in the sunlight if the sun hadn’t started to set as he made his way back to Washington and then to Forks. Edward decided that he’d take a bit of a detour, he could swing by the meadow he found his second time in Forks, one that now brought up many memories with him. He shared this spot first with Bella and then with their daughter. He loved the place, it was serene and a good place to just sit and think. His outfit consisted of a pair of simple jeans and just a sweater, the temper never bothered him, rarely didn’t it get as cold as his skin. His clothing didn’t even let on that he’d just come from hunting.
When he entered the meadow, he was surprised to find that he wasn’t just listening to his thoughts. Recognizing them immediately as Neisse's he pushed them to the back of his head, attempting to make them a buzzing noise to him. Hearing that they were rather jumbled worried him, but then again he was her father and anything that didn’t seem right when it concerned her worried him. Instead of going straight home like he had planned he came up to where she was sitting, to see that she was or had been crying. Now he was more concerned then worried, he took a seat next to her, “Nessie, are you okay?” Edward asked in a soft voice, masking his initial concern for her.[/blockquote] 4A74C7

Nessie knew that there would be people worrying about her, she'd set out this morning telling Jake that she would be gone for a few hours as she was going to see Esme, Alice and Rose about wedding plans. It was the easiest way to let her have some peace, he wanted to be involved with the plans, but when Nessie planned to meet with Rose she knew that Jake would rather stay away and that was what she needed now. She hadn't heard Edward enter the meadow, in all honest she never heard when anyone of her family came into the room. She could be silent like them to, but they always heard her heart beating. In fact she didn't notice Edward was there untill he sat down beside her, but even then she didn't aknowledge him. She lifted her brown eyes, the same brown as her mothers (when she was human) and tilted her head slightly so she could look at him.
His words hit her and she didn't know how to answer, of course she wasn't ok, the look was clear on her face that something was bothering her. Not to mention her fathers ability to read minds, he'd be able to tell there was something wrong. Nessie had always been so in control of her thoughts, she'd been born with a high brain capacity so she'd learnt how to control them, and with Edward around she'd learnt, like Alice, how to code her thoughts so her father didn't have to know everything she was thinking. Because lets face it, there are somethings that a father just doesn't need to know about their daughter. Her mind was such a jumbled mess that she knew her father wouldn't be able to get anything from what was running through her head. She'd spent all day thinking and yet she still hadn't gotten anywhere, it was why she'd wanted to talk to Esme.
She shifted a little and leaned against her fathers shoulder, letting her hair fall into her face, hiding it from veiw. "To be honest Dad, no, not really" she let out a sigh and sat up again brushing her hair behind her ear "I've just been thinking about Jake. I don't doubt that he loves me, I know he does but...." she trailed off and sighed, she didn't know where to start and her thoughts began to buzz again, jumping from one thing to another. The only clear things that ran through her head were images of Bella, Jake, and questions surrounding them.

Edward figured he’d have a couple of hours before someone wondered where he got to, though he didn’t figure they’d come looking for him since his wandering off was a bit of a normal thing now and again. When he saw that Nessie was also in the meadow, he figured everyone, mostly Bella and Jake would start worrying about her depending on how long she’d been gone. Edward’s quick speed and vampire nature made him almost impossible to hear coming, unless your hearing was especially good. He could tell from her demeanour that there was something bothering her even before he got close enough to see that there were tears flowing down her cheeks. Despite not showing a vast amount of emotion himself, he was better at dealing with other people rather then his own, not to mention he seemed to be a good listener when it counted.
Of course Edward didn’t have to ask her whether or not she was okay, it was plain to tell that about her just by seeing her face, and hearing her thoughts. It was just one of those questions that just came out whenever someone didn’t appear to be okay. Edward always tried to keep from paying attention to his family’s thoughts, something he always tried to do, but sometimes it was a difficult thing to ignore. At those difficult times, he was glad for Bella, Alice and Nessie all of whom were able to code their thoughts, well Bella’s thoughts were just inaccessible unless she wanted him to know what she was thinking. He was glad that his daughter was able to do this, and thankful Alice taught her how, there was just some stuff he shouldn’t have to know about some people, especially his daughter… he just wished Jacob knew how to do this.
When she moved herself and leaned against him, Edward put his arm around her shoulder. Though he knew her answer, when she told him, he allowed the concern to be written on his face as she sat up. Usually he’d be able to just know what was bothering someone, but her thoughts weren’t clear enough for that, though he notice Bella and Jake were occupying her thoughts. “What’s got you worried?” Edward asked her [/blockquote] 4A74C7

Nessie had always been guarded about her thoughts whenever Edward was around, it was easier that way. But in no way was Nessie in control of her thoughts, not at the moment anyway, the were jumbled, she couldn't make sense of them herself and she knew that Edward wouldn't be able to make any sense of them either. This in itself would make her father worry and she knew that only to well, but there was nothing she could do about that. Her objective after finding Esme out wasn't around was to just sit and think, ok so she knew people would begin to worry when she didn't show up again, but at this moment in time she really didn't care at all, she needed to clear her head. One thing that Nessie hated was not being in control of her thoughts, it was a horrible, there was so much going on in her head and not being able to control them or make sense of them gave her headaches.
Nessie took in the concern on her fathers face and let out another sigh, usually she didn't have to say anything when something was bothering her. Usually she'd use her 'gift' and show people what she was thinking, it was easier that way, but right now she was so confused that she couldn't even do that. She shifted her position so she could look Edward in the face, if she concentrate on her fathers facial features maybe then she'd be able to clear her head, if only a little. "Everything" she whispered, it was barely audiable, but she knew he'd be able to hear her. She shifted again, for some reason suddenly feeling nervous. She pushed herself up off of the ground so she could stand, she took her eyes off her father and began walking around the meadow, her mind begining to wander again. Her thoughts this time went to the wedding a Jacob, but suddenly her mothers face popped up and she sighed. "I know Jake loves me Dad, I do. But..." she sighed again, she was still walking and not looking at her father as she spoke "Sometimes I just feel like second best, I know it sounds stupid, it really does but he was in love with Mom, he wanted Mom. He imprinted on me, I'm his soul mate, I get that. But if it hadn't been for you, if you and Mom had never met then Jake would be with Mom, I wouldn't exist. I shouldn't exist!" she let out a frustrated growl and kicked a stone across the field, damaging the tree that it hit. The tears had stoped falling a while ago now "I don't get it. I can't get my head around any of this!" she flopped to the floor, her mind once again a jumbled mess and she buried her head in her hands, her hair falling around.

Edward knew who the people were in the family that watched their thoughts around him, basically it was just Alice and Nessie. The others didn’t really care enough to try and keep him out of their mind, usually Rosalie just complained silently that he was in her head, but she never seemed to do anything about it, not that it bothered him. He was rather use to it by now, though annoyingly enough he was never able to completely ignore the thoughts. Edward always found himself paying enough attention just to find out if something was bothering someone, and right now the chaos of his daughter’s thoughts were enough to have him worried. Along with the fact that her thoughts had him concerned he was starting to wonder how long she’d been gone, and if anyone was worried about her. But he’d worry about that later when they returned home.
Edward knew enough about his daughter that something was really bothering her. He knew she usually used her gift when something was wrong but he could tell that wouldn’t do any good, since her thoughts weren’t making much sense to him. When she shifted, so did Edward so that he could get a better look at her while she thought. When she said everything was bothering her, his concerned features turned a bit more sympathetic but not enough to get rid of the worry. He gave his own little sigh and look out over the meadow for a couple of minutes before looking back at his daughter, he could imagine some of the things that would be running through her mind, some that probably wouldn’t occur to someone with a normal family surrounding them.
When she stood up and started walking, Edward pushed himself off the ground as well and watched her walk around the meadow. Edward paid close mind to her thoughts seeing if he could make any sense of them, when he saw Jacob and Bella appear in relation to one another. He figured their history would be someone difficult to understand. Edward made his way towards where she was listening to her concerns, he gave a small sigh and sat down next to her again, putting his arm around her shoulder. “I know this must be difficult for you.” he started, “It doesn’t sound stupid, but your not second best Nessie. If some how you would have met Jacob the same time as your mother, Jacob wouldn’t have paid Bella any attention. This is just how things happened.” Edward said knowing this was difficult to explain or make sense of for anyone. “But don’t think that you shouldn’t exist” he said, he recalled saying that do Bella a one point early on in their relationship.[/blockquote] 4A74C7

Nessie's gift was special, it was always an easier way to make people understand, there were somethings that words couldn't describe, like how much she loved Jacob and so her gift came in handy to make people feel the way she felt and see things through her eyes. But she couldn't explain this to Edward using her gift, her thoughts were to mixed up to make any sense of all that would get portrayed would be her confussion and that was easy enough to see without having to show him. She was to confused herself to be able to show anyone else how she felt, but it wasn't just confussion, she couldn't even explain what else she was feeling at this moment in time.
She leaned against her father, but didn't remove her face from her hands, she listened to his words, let them wash over her. He was right, there was a part of that knew he was right, that if some how Jacob had met her first, or even at the same time that they'd be together, like they are now, how it should be. "But I shouldn't. What happened with you and Mom; most vampires would have killed that human, and even if they didn't she shouldn't have been able to survive the pregnancy. I was killing her, I know I was, you all think I don't remember but I remember all of that, since the moment that you started hearing my thoughts, I remember all of that. I'm the monster out of all of us, you're all vegitarians, Jake's not a monster; far from it. But me, I nearly killed my own mother!" she placed her hand on Edwards cheek; showing him the pictures of what Bella had looked like the day Nessie had been born "I remember" she whispered before puhing herself up again and away from Edward "None of this should be real! And if it wasn't I'd be the only one to not be here, to never have existed. You would have been around during your time, Mom would be around now, probably married to Jake, Jake would be around. But not me!" this time she bent down and picked up a stone and flung it across the field, the stone went straight through the tree she'd thrown it at, leaving a hole. She refused to look at Edward now, maybe what she was saying wasn't fair, but it was true, at least in her eyes it was true. She could feel the teard burning her eyes again, but she refused to let them fall, no, not this time. She'd get over this, she'd have to, but right now she needed to rant, needed to let someone know how she really felt. She was only 20 years old, though she looked 18, and already she'd gone through so much, gone through more than someone 3 times her age should ever have to go through.

It had been a long day for Bella, in fact it had been another non ending day for the young vampire. There was so much to do since moving back to Forks, so many stories to get straight so many things to move and buy and so much paperwork to do. Bella had just gotten home from Forks High, having just completed her own paperwork, as she needed to go in separately from Edward and Renesmee.
It wasn't long from the moment she stepped foot on the property that she heard very clearly a conversation in the nearby meadow. There were certain times Bella was thankful for that extraordinary hearing that she had been given, and then there were times that she wasn't, as of yet she wasn't sure whether she was happy or not about this time.
She put her things down at the car and started heading at a rather fast pace back to the meadow to see if everything was okay. She heard Renesmee and Edward, neither sounded too thrilled with the situation they both were in.
"Everything okay out here?" her voice piped up after Renesmee finished her last sentence. "Nessie? Edward?" she questioned raising her eyebrows to the two people who stood before her. Their family could be so confusing at times, and it was honestly hard to say what was wrong this time. Their problems were so out of the ordinary Bella honestly expected the world to come crashing down on them one day.

Edward leaned his head on top of his daughters as she told him what was bothering her. He never thought it would be easy for Renesmee to grow up learning of the history surrounding her parents and her fiancée. That term was still a bit difficult for Edward to wrap his head around; Jacob was going to be marrying his little girl. But right now he was putting that behind him for the moment. His daughter’s thoughts started to jumble themselves as her own mixed with his surrounding the topic. It was probably one of the hardest talks he’d have to have with her. He never liked to be reminded of any sort of pain he had put Bella through, and he planned himself more so then Nessie for the pain Bella went through during the pregnancy.
“But you do, and your mother and I wouldn’t change that fact. We weren’t aware that this could happen, but it did. It’s not your fault that you grew too quickly for your mother’s body or too strong.” Edward told her, he figured she’d remembered everything, he wished she didn’t have to remember it. But with her relatively large mind capacity she’d remember it. “You’re not a monster Nessie, you wouldn’t have brought Bella any harm if you could have helped it, we both know that.” he told her. When she placed her hand to his cheek to show him the pictures of how Bella looked when Nessie was born, Edward worked hard to suppress a wince. He remembered it all just as clearly, though he wished he could forget it. “But remember, you weren’t the one that killed her. Bella would been stronger if we had figured out you were hungry earlier. What happened during the pregnancy, nothing was your fault” Edward told her as she stood and walked away from him. Edward lifted himself off the forest floor again. Edward had often dwelled on the what ifs that could happen if vampires didn’t exist, but he’d stopped doing that when he figured it didn’t do any good. What happened happens and there wasn’t much you could change, he’d tried doing that by leaving Bella many years ago, thinking it was best. He now knew it wasn’t even close to being the right thing. He walked over to her vicinity as she spoke. “Nessie, it doesn’t do any good to dwell on the fact that none of this should be real, it doesn’t do any good. Its just how it is, thinking of it being any other way, well isn’t good for your own well being.” Edward told her. As he spoke he heard an approaching vampire, seeing as no one else could really move that fast with little noise. Edward moved to his daughter’s side and placed a hand on her shoulder as the approaching vampire got closer. When he heard no other thoughts, a small smile came to his lips for a moment, realizing it was Bella. Leaving his hand on Nessie’s shoulder, he turned towards his wife when she spoke, not exactly sure how to answer her, “Well…” was all he said turning his gaze back to Nessie before looking to Bella once again. This conversation had been a long time coming, when she was younger she hadn't thought about it much, she'd been to preoccupied with learning and growing, she hadn't had much time to think about it and to be completely honest she hadn't understood it to the fullest, even if her mind was greater than anyone her age. She listened to her fathers words, she knew both her parents loved her greatly, then something crossed her mind, Edward had wanted Nessie destroyed because she'd been killing Bella, she'd been connected to Bella's mind the whole time she'd been in the womb, she knew that. She pushed the thought aside as soon as it had entered her mind, Edward's concern had been for Bella he knew that, and besides, the moment he'd heard her thoughts he loved her. Nessie had never meant to hurt Bella, she'd hated hurting her mother, she loved her mother more than anything, perhaps even more than Jacob, but that was a different love. She gave her father a side ways glance, knowing that he would have seen that thought run through her head, she didn't say but the look on her face said she was sorry.
She listened to him speak, she'd been told of the time that Edward had left thinking it best for Bella, it was funny, she had been born what she was; half vampire, half human and yet she had a hard time adjusting to being what she was. She always seemed so sure and for the most part she was, but when it came to Jacob her thoughts tended to wondered. What if he wanted to be human? Give up being a werewolf, well he couldn't do that with Nessie around. She knew Edward would see those thoughts as well, these little doubts that had somehow worked their way into her head. Her eyes lifted to look at her father once again as he neared her, and for once a soft smile actual played on her lips, he was right. "I know, maybe I'm just being stupid, but I can't help but wonder, what-if" and a sigh left her lips.
Her gaze moved from Edwards face to his hand as he placed it on her shoulder and she looked up as another entered the clearing. She forced a smile as she looked at her mother, the question hit the air and she looked back at her father, glad that he didn't say anything before she looked back to Bella once again. She couldn't lie to her mother; it wasn't that she was a bad liar, it was that she hated doing it. Her dark eye's still showed the hurt and confussion that plagued her mind, she took a few steps forward so she was standing in front of Bella and lifted her hand to place it on her mother cheek. Why try and re-tell it when she could show her, she cleared her mind of everything else and focused on the past few minutes, since Edward had entered the clearing, showing her mother the whole thing. She let her hand drop and took a step backwards to study her mother faces and reaction to what she'd just shown her.

Bella stood there a little worried at first when Edward obviously didn't know how to respond to her. It was hard for her to understand, but Edward and Nessie did have a closer relationship when it came to solving problems, partially because Edward could read her mind, help her through the issues she couldn't phrase into words. That was one thing she wished would have been possible with her own parents, currently neither of them realised that their daughter was dead, let alone the idea that Bella had given birth to a girl who looked eighteen when she was much younger than that age.
It was at this moment of awkward silence that her daughter stepped forward and placed her hand on Bella's cheek. This gift was rare from what Bella understood, and sometimes the most annoying thing Bella ever experienced, but occasionally it was useful, and in this instance it made Bella feel like nothing more than dirt.
Renesmee showed her the worries that crossed her mind, the jealousy, the confusion, and most of it all revolved around Jacob Black and Bella. This whole thing is what made Bella feel uncomfortable about the relationship her daughter had with her best friend, but nothing could be done against it. They both had chosen each other, regardless of anyone else's opinions.
Yes, Jacob had fallen in love with Bella twenty five years ago, but that was just that, twenty five years ago. Jacob was a distant childhood friend, and she was pretty sure, though not certain, but if it hadn't been for Edward's brief exit from her life- Bella would not have had the breakdown that led her to trying to get into trouble. If it were not for that idea of getting into trouble just to hear Edwards voice, then she probably would not have been entertained by the idea of riding a motorcycle, or helping Jacob every day fixing them.
Bella's devotion's had strictly been for Edward from the Beginning, it was only when Jacob started falling in love with her that she decided to give it a second thought. Now that she thought about it in hindsight, Edward was the right choice, yes she had to die to be with him, but if she had stayed human and ended up with Jake in some long shot way, she would be a mortal, and Jacob would have had to give up his immortality to be with her, and that would of made her as miserable as Nessie seemed to be right now.
Every worry of Nessie's seemed to relate to the fact that she was 'second pick' which was not true. "Renesmee, I- I am so sorry, we should have had this talk sooner sweetheart." Bella was trying to mutter her way through the words trying not to blame herself for all of this.
"Jake, he loves you more than anything in the world, and you know that. I agree completely with everything your father has said already, but if I may add my own to it…" she said taking a deep breath trying not to let it show how disappointed in herself she was for the actions so many years ago.
"Everyone has crushes Nessie, though perhaps you may not have experienced that with anyone other than Jacob. Humans, and in this case werewolves, have crushes on people they find attractive, find amusing, there is something there that they like. Lets just say that, and well, the more time Jake and I spent together yes, he did have a crush on me, and I will admit I slowly started to have similar feelings. But that does not compare to the love I had for your father. Your father was the reason for my living, whether I had Jake there or not I still only saw your father. Yes Jake tried really hard to get me to change my mind, and he often swayed me in his direction, but it did not mean that I loved him, nor that I had strong enough feelings for him to ever go out with him or one day marry him.
If it weren’t for your father leaving, I doubt I would of spent much time at all with Jacob, and once he became a wolf, he would of blocked me out completely had he not known about my involvement with the Vampires.
The point is, he loves you, he knows now what being in love means, what it feels like. With me, it was a crush, he thought he knew what it was- but it was nothing more than wishful thinking. Perhaps he was attracted to me for the very idea that his imprinting knew that his soul mate would come from me. That I can not say, I don't know. Don't think you are second best, you never were, there was never any competition love. Jacob loves you with all his heart, I see it in the way he looks at you, he never looked at me that way.
Renesmee, I love you completely and wholly for the rest of eternity, and I never want to see you unhappy. I know that this doesn't make sense, it still doesn't completely make sense to me or your father. All we know is what is put before us. I love Edward like you love Jacob, Jacob had a crush on me once, but realised what love was when he found you. You are engaged to him and you will be happy, as happy as you've ever been. I am sure, if you ask Auntie Alice, she will say nothing but good about your future. "
It may have sounded cheap, or pushy, but it was completely true and to the point. Bella loved Jacob now only as a friend, as family, not as a lover. And when she thought she did years ago it was confussion, much like Nessie was experiencing.

Edward figured he’d be having this conversation with her; he just wasn’t sure when it was going to be. It wasn’t exactly the least complicated situation out there, it was difficult for most people to figure out how exactly it happened. Edward’s best explanation would probably have to be simply because they were creatures that weren’t supposed to exist. It was the only way in which Edward would have met Bella, which makes everything else fall into place. When Edward saw that she thought of him wanting her destroyed, a frown formed on his lips and he looked at the ground. He wished he wouldn’t have felt that way, though hearing her thoughts for the first time changed his mind. And he’d loved Nessie ever since. When she looked over at him, he knew she was sorry, he gave her a smile that showed it was okay.
Perhaps most of this was on his own shoulders, since Bella rarely saw Jacob before he’d abandoned her. By doing what he did he sort of pushed the two of them together, in a more then friendship kind of way for the duration of his absence and then some. Edward caught her thinking about what if Jacob wanted to be human again. “Renesmee, Jacob enjoys being a werewolf he always has. I don’t think he’d want to be human again, at all.” Edward told her, he’d never seen or rather heard, Jake mention being human completely at any point. Seeing the smile on his daughters lips brought one to his, “I know, its just the way our minds work, you can’t help the stuff that sneaks up when you aren’t paying attention.” he said, he knew the sorts of things that could come up on people’s minds when they weren’t necessarily paying attention. Edward didn’t know exactly how to explain everything that went on between him and Nessie up to when Bella entered the meadow, it was complicated and he figured Nessie would want to explain to the best of her ability, it made things a lot easier. Besides, Edward wasn’t exactly the best at relaying information at all times. Edward let Nessie walk up to Bella first and relay the whole conversation to her, Edward knew that it wouldn’t be the best thing Bella would hear from her daughter, and he could see that on her face. This fear that Nessie had was probably the reason why Bella and himself weren’t too keen on the imprinting on one level. Though he supposed she could have picked someone worse then Jake. When Nessie had finished relaying the conversation to Bella, he joined his two favourite people. Edward gave Bella a soft side embrace and a quick kiss on the side of her forehead. He had a feeling this wasn’t going to be a simple conversation. A few trips down memory lane probably, some of them most likely wouldn’t be a few of the best ones, since most that concerned himself, Jake and Bella weren’t so happy. Bella would probably be able to explain things between her and Jacob better, since Edward wasn’t fond of that relationship, he didn’t want Nessie to see it from his side. Edward listened while Bella spoke to their daughter about the relationship between her and Jacob, one that Edward had never liked. Though he knew he had brought them closer together and when he returned tried to keep them from seeing one another. It was quite the complicated relationship between all three of them. When she got to the part where she basically explained how her friendship with Jacob formed, he winced slightly when she mentioned him leaving her. Edward casted his eyes to the ground for a moment, before returning them to watch the exchange between his wife and daughter Even though its been a good couple of decades since that happened, it still wasn’t exactly something that he was able to forgive himself for doing. Edward had a clear view into Jacob’s mind, he knew that the boy loved his daughter, something he was still getting use to, but he knew it was a love that would last much like the one he had for Bella. He knew better then to think that Bella or Jacob loved one another was anything but a family/friend kind of love which he was fine with…now. “ Your mother’s right, Renesmee. The love Jacob has for you is a on a totally different level then any sort of affection he’s ever had for anyone else. You’re constantly on his mind.” He told her. Nessie stood watching her mothers expression expression fall and instantly felt worse, she hadn't meants to make Bella feel worse, it was why she had avoided having the conversation with her. She hated doing anything that hurt her mother, her mother meant the world to her and everyone knew that and as far as Nessie was concerned she'd hurt her mother enough during the pregnancy to last a life time. Avoiding the topic had been her idea because she didn't want to see that look on Bella's face, the one she was looking at right now, all caused by her. Of course she knew that the best person to talk to about this was of course her mother, but it would mean a lot of hurt and an area of her mother life that Nessie knew she didn't want to revisit. She watched as her father moved to stand next to her mother and await what her mother would say, her dark brown eyes never left her mother face, though she didn't want to see that look, especially know that it was her that had caused it.
Her mothers words washed over her and Nessie listened intently, taking everything in. Everything her mother said made sense, it always did, everyword that came out of her mouth was something that Nessie already knew, at least at the back of her mind she knew. Perhaps she was just looking for reasurance, or just needed someone else to say them to make her realise the truth. She didn't know which, but either way, hearing Bella say them made her see them more clearly, like a light being switched on after stumblering around in the dark for a very long time.
It was true, Nessie had never really experienced a crush, when she was young, around 4 or 5, though she'd looked in her early teens she'd first developed a crush on Jacob, but that had turned into love. It had always been Jacob, in her minds eyes she'd never seen anyone but Jacob, she'd pictured her life with him from a young age. She hadn't pictured growing old with him because she knew that her and Jacob were never gunna grow old, but she'd seen the wedding, her wedding and she'd seen children; Jacob, it had always been Jacob. A soft smile played on her lips now as the memories flooded back to her, all the time she'd spent with Jacob, the time she'd first told him that she loved him and the happiness on his face at her words. It was that picture that floated in her head now and it gave her mothers words sink in, Bella was right, Jacob had never looked at her like that.
Nessie's eyes lifted from the ground, though she wasn't aware of when she'd started looking at the ground, her gaze fell on her mother and chocolate eyes locked with topaz ones and the smile on her lips seemed to grow. She moved forward, closing the small gap between them and wrapped her arms around her mothers neck, resting her forehead in the crook of her neck, taking in that smell that was so familair and so comforting. She let out a soft sigh before lifting her head once again, the vision of her wedding still in her head, she moved away, but her hands found her mothers and she now had a grin on her lips as realisation crossed her mind on her mothers last sentance.
"Asking Alice would do me no good, she can see neither me or Jacob" she teased, her eyes now dancing with the happiness that was usually there. Her eye's went to her father and the grin seemed to widen a little, it was at times like this that Nessie and her father used to gang up on Bella, it was all in good fun of course. It was just one of their things as father and daughter. The thought of Jacob ever wanting to be human was out of her mind for the moment, she didn't want to go back to that state of unhappiness and so she had pushed that thought to the back of her mind. ((sorry for shortness guys))

Edward could only watch Bella’s expression change when she realized what was bothering their daughter. He would have taken her into his arms had this been under different circumstances but this had to be discussed before Renesmee went through with the wedding, not that he figured that would be called off, no he just knew it needed to be talked about before hand. While he could only watch Bella’s expression fall he could see and hear Nessie’s reaction to this. Edward and his daughter shared that trait among others in common, the two didn’t like to see Bella in any sort of discomfort for any reason let alone be the one that made her feel that way. He could see how this was bothering Nessie and would have comforted her as well under different circumstances as well.
While Bella spoke, reliving the past a bit Edward thought back a bit. He was surprised to see that he and Jacob had actually made progress over the years. The two of them could sit down and actually talk for a short while. It wasn’t quite an ideal relationship, or one that was shared between Jake and Bella. Of course Edward knew they could never have that relationship, there was just too much baggage with them to have a perfect friendship. Edward smiled just slightly at the exchange between mother and daughter, and seeing the realization in his daughter that the reassurance was working.
Yes Bella explained this much better then Edward would have been able to do, for one thing he’d never done the whole crush thing as well. He’d been seemingly oblivious to girls really until Bella and there wasn’t really a middle step there, it was just Bella. Always was and always will be. That’s just the way that Edward saw it. Seeing the memories come back to Nessie, Edward attempting to put her thoughts to the back of his mind, focusing on his own, though it was difficult when there weren’t other thoughts intruding on his own. He’d manage it well enough though.
Edward smiled when everything seemed to be solved and Nessie hugged Bella, glad too see that there was once again a smile on his daughters lips. He didn’t like to see either of the two of them unhappy, so he felt better when they were both smiling. Almost in sync with Nessie, Edward’s smile widened at Bella’s last words. “I’m sure Alice’s educated guesses are just as valuable as the things she actually can see.” he said with a small laugh looking over at Nessie still with a smile.[/blockquote] 4A74C7

Bella let out a sigh of relief as Renesmee joked, it was something that she and Edward always used to do to make an awkward situation go away. It was one of those father daughter tricks that they used to make mommy seem like the bad guy or divert blame. Nonetheless it got everyone laughing. It was in this moment that Bella started relishing over those old memories.
The first day Bella was able to see Renesmee, the beautiful smile, the curly golden hair, the hazel eyes, Edwards face shining through all that. It was a miracle in the form of a child for Bella, it was probably the happiest moment of her life. Not only was she a vampire, but she had a beautiful daughter whom she loved more than the very life she gave up.
Then came the different stages of growing, not only did her body grow rapidly, but so did her mind. The girl had so much knowledge shoved at her she should have been Einstein or something by the time she was really two! Bella could just remember sitting there on the couch, practising being human whilst Edward would be sitting beside Renesmee at the Piano teaching her how to play Chopsticks.
Then when she was four they all set out from Forks and travelled firstly to Alaska and settled with the Denali's. Renesmee loved it up there; she was always smiling about something. That’s when Jacob came up, and the Cullen's were forced to deal with the stench of a werewolf all the time. Rosalie hated it, but once all the name calling wore itself down to a minimum everyone seemed to get one just fine, all the family minus Esme and Carlisle were in High school again. Renesmee was sent to Elementary school and finished off the year.
And now they were back in Forks and her daughter was engaged, to a great man, a great protector, and a great wolf, a wonderful friend. Bella still had a hard time accepting that this fiancé of her daughters was the same Jacob that she had known as a child, but she was working on it. She was truly happy for the two of them, knowing they were made for each other.
She could just see visions of the wedding day, all the dresses that Nessie had picked out, the ones Bella thought were nice too… Jacob wearing more than just shorts for a day in his life, her and Edward sitting there as proud parents whilst their daughter gave herself away and became Mrs. Jacob Black. Just the thought brought tears to the womans eyes, tears of joy no less, but still tears. Her little baby had grown up right before her eyes, though lost in an ageless point in life, the girl was still alive, and getting married for the first time. Bella was sure there would be more Weddings and she hoped not to get so sappy when she thought about those, but Renesmee was the only daughter she would ever have, she wasn't likely to have any more now that her body had been dead for twenty years. Just picturing the day, that wasn't happening too long from now, just made the tears stream down her pale face. Bella honestly couldn't remember the last time she had cried.
