She walked the halls of a different school, a different age than the last school, a different grade, and a different name. In her last life, she was in Chicago, her fathers home town, the one where he was last human. Edward was a Cullen, as was Alice and Emmett. Rosalie and Jasper maintained the twin identity once again, Carlisle was the local hunky doctor, and Bella and Renesmee were sisters, Bella being the elder by a year, the same age as Jacob- a Senior. Renesmee went by the name Vanessa Swan and was with her boyfriend, also a foster child- Jacob Wolfe.
Now, because she and Alice had convinced her grandfather, they moved back to Forks before their time. All the inhabitants who knew them before were still alive, so this put the Cullen's at risk. Thus forcing them to take extra precautions. One being Bella had to take her mother's maiden name. Renesmee had never met her maternal grandmother, but heard all about her and had scene enough pictures of her to get the basic feeling of the woman. Her grandfather Charlie used to speak of her as well, though he was sworn to silence about Renesmee. She hadn't seen her Grandpa Charlie since she was little, but now knowing more about her family, knew it was unsafe to see him, though she yearned to see him. She had actually gone out of her way one night on her way home from Jakes, and stopped by at Charlie's house. She relived her father's memories and pried her mother's old bedroom window open and snuck inside. She just stood in the hallway between the kitchen and the stairs looking at the old man, worn out and grey, compared to the last time she had seen him. The house was a mess; it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few weeks, and Charlie lay sprawled out on the couch, in the dark with the TV on, and bag of chips dumped on the floor in front of him, snoring loudly.
Renesmee couldn't help then but smile, she walked over to another chair grabbing a blanket and covered her Grandfather up as best she could, cleaning up the chips noiselessly.
That was the last time she saw her grandfather, and now as she walked through the halls of Forks High school, she couldn't help but wonder what it was like for her mother, the first time, wandering through these halls. Looking at the people who were smiling at you, clearly wondering who you were, and knowing full well all along. This time was going to be different than the rest for her, it was going to be not necessarily harder, but more of a challenge. This time, she got to be the twin, with her own father. Vanessa Renee and Anthony Edward Cullen, the twins of the deceased Edward Anthony Cullen and mother gone mad, Isabella Marie Cullen, now foster children of the single woman Esme Evensen. She found it interesting how her family used all there old human names as alias' in different towns.
For instance, Evensen, was Esme's previous married surname before she died, Emmett and Rosalie had resorted to Emmett's human surname- McCarty in public, being a new married couple. Alice was Alice Brandon, her old surname. And Jasper, well he was Jazz Whitlock, a mixture of both his old surname and nickname. Where as Bella changed her name around so much so no one would recognise her, taking on Renee's former maiden name- Higginbotham, and changed Isabella around so much no one would dare to think it.
Vanessa Cullen stood by her locker, waiting for Anthony to show up. They were in all the same classes after all, only a few had Edward managed to get into Senior classes. And Jacob, well he failed a few of course, so he had to redo the lower levels before he could graduate. Jake and Bella were supposed to be here any time now, and Edward was somewhere around here. She had seen a sleepy Seth already stumble in, but figured best not to wake the poor puppy. So there she stood, sorting books into her bag, just waiting.
